As of right now there is not a way to remove the sidebar. I would suggest you make a note to the developers of this issue and they may act upon it. Until then we will just have to deal with the stick sidebar.
I have not been able to find a library that suits my needs, so I forked the WMD project (which SO uses for its Markdown syntax highlighting) and put the project on on Github. I didn’t have time to implement it, but maleldil kindly did it himself, so try it out!

You probably want to use ”%%here is code%%”. This formats it in monospace (”) and prevents any interpretion of possible wiki markup (%%).
It does not. But you can use the side bar to make a custom ‘table of contents’ where you can put them in any order you want, with headings and everything, see below (from https://github.com/BrechtDeMan/WebAudioEvaluationTool/wiki) You may want to have a look at the answers to this question.

You want to add the wiki as a submodule. The same Wiki Git repository connected as a remote, but within a subdirectory with its own .git directory. git submodule add git://github.com/you/proj.wiki In the root of your main repository to add the wiki repository as a submodule in the wiki/ directory.
