WCF Service Client: The content type text/html; charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding

I had a similar issue. I resolved it by changing

<basicHttpBinding>

to

<basicHttpsBinding>

and also changed my URL to use https:// instead of http://.

Also in <endpoint> node, change

binding="basicHttpBinding" 

to

binding="basicHttpsBinding"

This worked.
