I use Emacs+VHDL-mode which is great if you don’t mind (or have already climbed) the learning curve of Emacs. Alternatively, you could try Sigasi-HDT which is Eclipse-based and has more GUI. And some more powerful refactoring tools by the look of it.

Simply go look it up or change it in your key binding settings: File > Preferences > Keyboard shortcuts It’s named cursorLineEnd. Same can be done for cursorLineStart of course. Interfering other shortcuts can be changed or deleted as well in that menu.

You should definitely use SpringSource Tool Suite, an Eclipse-based IDE created by SpringSource themselves. Also on the official SpringSource channel @YouTube you’ll find a pretty extensive 5-part introduction to using Spring & STS.
