Label axes on Seaborn Barplot

Seaborn’s barplot returns an axis-object (not a figure). This means you can do the following:

import pandas as pd
import seaborn as sns
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt

fake = pd.DataFrame({'cat': ['red', 'green', 'blue'], 'val': [1, 2, 3]})
ax = sns.barplot(x = 'val', y = 'cat',
              data = fake,
              color="black")
ax.set(xlabel="common xlabel", ylabel="common ylabel")
plt.show()
