HTML5 Email input pattern attribute

I had this exact problem with HTML5s email input, using Alwin Keslers answer above I added the regex to the HTML5 email input so the user must have .something at the end.

<input type="email" pattern="[a-z0-9._%+-]+@[a-z0-9.-]+\.[a-z]{2,4}$" />
