How do I pass a value from a child back to the parent form?

Create a property (or method) on FormOptions, say GetMyResult:

using (FormOptions formOptions = new FormOptions())
{
    formOptions.ShowDialog();

    string result = formOptions.GetMyResult;

    // do what ever with result...
}
