As an alternative to using the tf status command you can also install the TFS 2010 power tools. You can then right click on any folder in Source Control Explorer and select “Find in source control” > “Status” the default option is to find all checked out files in the path you have slected.
Delete the solution user options (.suo) file. If you experience “funny” debugging issues, it usually means the suo file is corrupt. Delete the solutions suo file. I just banged my head against this one for an hour. The problem was that I had a command line project named Something.exe, which was using a class library project named Something.dll.
Right-click on the project file, then “Reload” If your solution opens, but your project is showing as “incompatible”, it may need to just reload. This worked for me when running an update from VS, and it did not recognize my njsproj
