2018 update: Confirmed on Version 65.0.3325.181, you can simply right-click anywhere inside the devtools console and click “Clear console history.” It solved the problem for me. I ran into this issue earlier and, having never seen it before, began going through the first couple steps to TarranJones’ solution.

From the documentation: The only occasion to keep a background script persistently active is if the extension uses chrome.webRequest API to block or modify network requests. I had the same issue. The data does not show up when you are using the eventsource polyfill only when you use the built in browser implementation of the EventSource class.

Chrome dev tools sorts classes by their specificity from top-to-bottom. Check this out: Inspect an element (in this case an svg) and type in the css attribute you want to see the specificity for (this case “height’). Highest is always on top!
