Android studio 2.3: Could not initialize class org.jetbrains.kotlin.android.actions.NewKotlinActivityAction
Disable the Kotlin plugin and restart Android Studio. I had the same error even after I updated the plugin. So disabling seems to be the solution for now — unless you’re using Kotlin, I guess. The Kotlin team confirmed a fix is in the works via twitter: https://twitter.com/kotlin/status/797111726516879360
Android Emulator – “Encryption unsuccessful”
Wiping data in Android Virtual Device Manager helped me in my case. Tools -> Android -> AVD Manager -> Actions (triangle down) -> Wipe Data There is also Advanced settings in virtual device’s configuration (the pencil) where is a configuration of SD card and internal storage, but I didn’t have to change it.
Warning: Dangling Javadoc comment
It looks like you are using a Javadoc comment when you call the method setNameText. Javadoc comments are to be inserted above a class declaration, a method declaration, or a field declaration. If you simply want a comment when calling the method, use the one-line comment: // get formatted name based on {@link FORMAT_NAME}.

Standalone SDK Manager option in Android Studio 2.3
It is a deprecated feature: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=235625 There is an option in Android Studio to “Show Package Details”. For manual SDK and AVD management, please use Android Studio. I ran the Android studio as administrator and then it worked as it is a permission issue.
