React Native onPress being called automatically

try to change

onPress={this.handleRoute(‘x’)} // in this case handleRoute function is called as soon as render happen

to

onPress={() => this.handleRoute.bind(‘x’)} //in this case handleRoute doesn’t called as soon as render happen
