Override ActiveRecord attribute methods

Echoing Gareth’s comments… your code will not work as written. It should be rewritten this way:

def name=(name)
  write_attribute(:name, name.capitalize)
end

def name
  read_attribute(:name).downcase  # No test for nil?
end
