Navigation Drawer ActionBar button not working

You forgot to implement onOptionsItemSelected

This is where the magic happens:

    public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) {
        // Pass the event to ActionBarDrawerToggle, if it returns

        if (mDrawerToggle.onOptionsItemSelected(item)) {
          return true;
        }

        return super.onOptionsItemSelected(item);
