How to call code behind server method from a client side JavaScript function?

Yes, you can make a web method like..

[WebMethod]
public static String SetName(string name)
{
    return "Your String"
}

And then call it in JavaScript like,

PageMethods.SetName(parameterValueIfAny, onSuccessMethod,onFailMethod);
