Yes, UIApplication is a singleton, and uses the normal singleton pattern for Objective-C:

[UIApplication sharedApplication];

You can get your delegate class directly from it:

MyAppDelegate *delegate = (MyAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate];
