Failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt

I had this issue and I solved it with this thread

disable incremental linking, by going to

    Project Properties 
       -> Configuration Properties 
           -> Linker (General) 
              -> Enable Incremental Linking -> "No (/INCREMENTAL:NO)"
