Detect timezone abbreviation using JavaScript

A native solution:

var zone = new Date().toLocaleTimeString('en-us',{timeZoneName:'short'}).split(' ')[2]
console.log(zone)

You can pass undefined instead of en-us to default to the browser’s current locale.
