The solution was to add these flags to JVM command line when Tomcat is started: -XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled -XX:+CMSPermGenSweepingEnabled You can do that by shutting down the tomcat service, then going into the Tomcat/bin directory and running tomcat6w.exe.
