Java 8: Difference between two LocalDateTime in multiple units

I found the best way to do this is with ChronoUnit.

long minutes = ChronoUnit.MINUTES.between(fromDate, toDate);
long hours = ChronoUnit.HOURS.between(fromDate, toDate);
