The Hibernate configuration file must define the entity classes:
<mapping class="annotations.Users"/>
Or you must explicitly add the class to the configuration using
configuration.addClass(annotations.Users.class)

configuration.addResource("myFile.hbm.xml"); // not hibernateAnnotations.cfg.xml
