For windows, the default path is C:\Program Files\Genymobile\Genymotion On a Mac, you will find it here: /Applications/Genymotion.app You have to enter it inside the Android Studio settings, under Genymotion section.

This happens to me when my computer came out standby. Restart your virtual device.
Copy/pasting text from the host into the virtual device is possible since version 2.1.0. (Note that simply updating Genymotion does not suffice, you also have to recreate the virtual device after updating to 2.1.0 or greater.) Pasting can be performed via long tap/click + PASTE in the virtual device.

The files in the VirtualBox folder are likely just the actual machine configurations, not the downloaded image files. On my system (Windows 8 x64) the downloaded images are located here: \Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Genymobile\ Inside this folder is another folder called LaunchPad.
