ERROR 404.3 Not Found for JSON file

As suggested by @ancajic i put the below code after connectionString tag in my web.config file and it worked.

  <system.webServer>
    <staticContent>
      <mimeMap fileExtension=".json" mimeType="application/json" />
    </staticContent>
  </system.webServer>
