UPDATE: Here’s an easier way than what was there before.

 <input ng-model="query">
 <div ng-repeat="item in (filteredItems = (items | orderBy:'order_prop' | filter:query | limitTo:4))">
   {{item}}
 </div>

Then $scope.filteredItems is accessible.
