phpMyAdmin access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: NO)

found a solution, in my config file I just changed

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config';

to

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'HTTP';
